My distinct lack of skill in describing what I want to get across in words is quite annoying. Nonetheless, I want to attempt. I thank all who read in advance for your time.
Highschool pretty much ruined reading books for pleasure. For years now I've not been able to finish books, let alone pick them up. I've only had two series really grab me, Song of the Summer King, and now The Posterchildren.
If you've ever had a book you can't put down no matter what you will understand. Both of these series are writers who have self published, and while I've advertised for Summer King, I've not for Posterchildren. I'm attempting to amend that now.
A young adult, LGBTQ novel about superheros. While I'll admit superheros aren't exactly high on my list of interests, Kitty Burroughs' writing, and the fandom are consuming my life.
If you've ever read a book and had issue with how something is portrayed, well, so has Kitty. She sought to make a book that represented many things in a very real perspective. She has created characters that, no matter who you are, you can connect with. Tackling issues like weight, religion, politics, legacies of parents, mental illness, race, sexuality, and more. There are no Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus, black and white good and evil, or flat characters in the story. Every character is complex and has their own reasons behind their actions and personalities.
I don't exactly advise the stories for younger children due to some of the ideas and swear words, but its a very good read and is a breath of fresh air. So far there is one main book, The Posterchildren: Origins, and eight short stories, with the second novel on the way. A digital copy of the book is only 5 dollars US, and a dollar per short story.
If you start reading the books, or just want to learn more about them, tumblr is one of the best places to go. Not only is the writer there to answer what questions she can without giving away too many spoilers, but there is a great mass of amazing fanartists that bring Kitty's stories to image. I'm hoping to complete more fanarts myself, but first I'll upload the two I've made so far.
Even if only one person decides to take up this book I'll be happy. I don't speak out about things I really care for on here much, but this book has helped me in amazing ways, and I hope it can do the same, or in the very least entertain more people.
If you're interested in a sample of the main book I can offer a first chapter, but honestly guys, the book is worth more than it costs digitally in my opinion.

Well that was my horrid attempt at getting the word out there more. Sorry I've been MIA for so long, I'm not sure when it will change, but I'm still here...just haunting my inbox mainly.
